Executive Abstract
Given the rapidly evolving cyber threat landscape, the expanding attack surface that organizations must defend – with more networks, cloud computing, and IoT/IIoT – and the regulatory and financial imperative for doing so, a 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC) is increasingly regarded as critical to an effective cyber security strategy.
As such, choosing whether to build your own on-premise SOC, or to outsource it to a company specializing in SOC-as-a-service is an important decision. Creating the business case for either requires a clear understanding of how and why a SOC, and SOC-as-a-service, can improve your organization’s security posture, and reduce cyber risk and costs, while enhancing business agility.
This white paper will help you build the internal business case for SOC-as-a-service, and includes a worksheet that can be used to quantify savings.
